Charlene has been there from the very beginning of my voice journey. I am so incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity and the privilege to learn from her. When we first started this course, I had so many questions regarding procedures and preparing, not only for the speed building and the skills that it took to accomplish this bootcamp, but for actually being a court reporter. This course was entirely comprehensive, and I am amazed at how much I have learned within the last 20 weeks. Between Dessa’s method of teaching and Charlene always there to answer every question I have ever had and to provide me with guidance and direction, I know that I am fully prepared to enter this field as a professional court reporter. I’m still in awe that in just “five months” of intensive study with Realtime Voice Training, I am now officially a Certified Verbatim Reporter. I cannot thank you enough for all of the instruction you gave us on block files and general Eclipse knowledge. Because I’ve done so many EUOs, I’ve had to tweak all of my depo block files for verbiage changes and such. I knew exactly what to do and how to make those changes. The fact that you taught us and then had us turning in our tests using block files helped me feel more prepared going into this. It took a lot of stress off. If you are interested in learning voice training for court reporting, I highly recommend Charlene Hansard’s Realtime Voice Training. Before selecting this course, I researched many of the schools listed on the National Verbatim Reporters Association (NVRA) website. I spoke with several people at many of the schools that were identified. They each have something good to offer; however, I chose Charlene’s for several reasons. #1, on her website she is very straightforward about the costs involved to get started. Other schools were not. #2, her 20-week course is the least expensive and the most complete. As a student of Charlene’s, I have found the course jam-packed with information, but she gets you through it. I had a tremendous learning curve with the technology, but Charlene’s patience and knowledge got me up to speed. Charlene is always willing to answer questions, help with the software used for voice reporters, and offer her extensive knowledge. Regarding the technology, Charlene teaches Dragon, a voice-recognition software, and Eclipse, which converts the voice recognition recordings from Dragon into the proper formatting required by courts and attorneys. When I explained what I’ve been learning in Charlene’s course to the owner of a court reporting firm, she immediately offered me a job. She was impressed with the training I’m receiving from Charlene, which surpasses that of many of the recently certified voice reporters who have contacted her. Charlene will prepare you to pass the NVRA national certification if one is required in your state. She also offers help for various state certifications. Additionally, even after you have finished the course, Charlene will continue to answer questions and provide support, as well as allow continued access to her website.
