Do I need Windows experience?

Yes. This program is heavy in technology training. You will learn the most current techniques our industry has to offer.

What voice software programs do you teach?

Dragon Naturally Speaking and Eclipse Vox.

 

How long is training and when do classes begin?

Training is 20 weeks of live classes.  All classes will be recorded and uploaded to the training portal shortly after the live class.  Winter classes begin in January.  Summer classes begin in July. 

Can I go at my own pace?

Live classes are held weekly, but you will be able to work ahead in your manuals.

Do you offer live classes?

Yes.  Weekly classes are live.  Students find more success in a group environment and additional support with their peers while attending an online program.  All classes will be recorded and uploaded to the training portal shortly after the live class.

Does everyone get accepted to your training program?

Unfortunately, no.  This is a fast-paced program with 60 hours of live instruction during a five-month period.  The amount of technology, terminology,  and transcript production is not for everyone.

What are your admission requirements?

You must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma.  You must also pass the entrance exam.

 

Is Reporter Training only for working reporters?

Yes, the Reporter Training is for working court reporters or for newly-certified students who want additional training not covered in the Beginner Training.
